1. Overview

Welcome to ShadiCardMaker ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use our website (https://shadicardmaker.com).

2. Client-Side Data Processing

ShadiCardMaker operates primarily as a client-side web application. The details you enter into our invitation forms (such as Bride name, Groom name, event venue, parents' names, and dates) are processed directly in your web browser to render your invitation preview and download files (PDF, PNG, JPEG).

We do NOT store or collect your private invitation details on our own servers — there are none; this site is a static application. The one exception is the optional Google Translate feature described below, which does send the text you choose to translate off your device.

3. Optional Translation Feature

The "Translate" buttons in the invitation form are optional. If you use them, the specific field text you're translating (for example a name, venue, or message) is sent directly from your browser to Google's translation and transliteration services to get the translated result back. This only happens when you click a Translate button — nothing is sent automatically as you type.

We don't control what Google does with that request on their end. If you'd rather not send any wedding details to a third party, simply type directly in your preferred language instead of using the translate buttons.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

We use your browser's localStorage for strictly necessary purposes — remembering your preferred language selection, your most recent Shareable RSVP link (if you created one), and your cookie choice itself. These load automatically and can't be disabled, since the site doesn't function without them.

Google Analytics (see Section 5) only loads after you choose "Accept All" on the cookie banner shown on your first visit. Choosing "Necessary Only" keeps it off entirely — the site works identically either way, since analytics only counts usage and never gates a feature. You can change your choice anytime via "Cookie Preferences" in the footer. We do not use intrusive tracking cookies or sell your browsing history.

5. Third-Party Analytics & Error Reporting

When enabled, we use Google Analytics 4 to count how the site is used — page views, and a "card generated" event each time you successfully download or share an invitation, tagged only with the export format (PNG, PDF, etc.), religion, ceremony type, and template used. It does not include your name, your invitation's text, or any other personal details you typed into the form.

The same connection is also used for basic error reporting — if the app crashes, a report containing the error message (not your invitation data) is sent so we can fix it.

6. Advertising & Cookies

ShadiCardMaker may display advertisements served by Google, including through Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info. As with the rest of this site, none of your invitation details (names, dates, venues, messages) are ever shared with advertising partners — ad personalization, if active, is based only on general browsing activity, the same as on any other site that shows Google ads.
